Question:

Verizon | 2 Year Contract Questions?

I have a phone and my 2 year contract is almost up. It's up in October. But I broke it so I went to Verizon to get the LG Voyager but my dad doesn't understand the 2 Year Contract.

I'm getting a new number so can I get a new contract or have to pay full price and cancel my other phone?

What will change if I'm already on a FamilyShare Minute Plan?

The sales person said that my line will be changed if I get a contract...What is the change?

I don't really know what the 2 year contract is. Please explain.

My brother just got a new phone and he was still in the 2 year contract and he paid for the 2 year contract. But my dad didn't know.

I'm so confused. Why can't we just get phones whenever we want... Paying $400 for a Voyager is just stupid.

So Please Explain Everything I Need to Know About the 2 Year Contract. I might be going back tonight.

  1. One way do get the phone would be a partial upgrade.  They add one year to your current plan and it makes the phone a little cheaper.  The cheaper way to do it would be to add another line to the family plan and get the phone very discounted and pay an extra $10 a month until October then cancel out your old line.   They probably won't let you renew your contract yet because it hasn't been 2 years yet.  If you have any other questions about the topic e-mail me from my profile.  Check how much it is to just cancel it now because Verizon throws in $10 cerdit each month in case you do cancel early.  Lots of options just see what is best for you.

  2. mmmmmm I'm a bit confused with all you wrote but let me see if I can help a bit

A 2yr contract is that a CONTRACT meaning that if you break the contract you'll have to pay a cancellation fee... Do you know if you are a primary line or secondary line???

secondary lines are additonal lines added to the contract and these lines can only upgrade (get discounts on phones while re-newing the contract) every 20 months.... so 4 months before your contract is up :D

Now if you get a new line you do get discounts but note that on the first bill you are charged activation fees and sent a prorated bill

    hope this helps :)

  3. Basically I think what a 2 year contract is, is a contract saying you won't get an early upgrade(i.e, get a new phone, that's not the phone you signed up with) or cancel your plan for two years.

Sorry if that made no sense, it probably didn't but I just wanna help!

    :]
