Question:

Verizon Blackberry Pearl Texting?

Hello everyone,

Looking for some advice on texting from owners of the Blackberry pearl. I've been reading about this 'truetype' I guess it's called. It sounds like it might be like T9 predictive texting but I'm not sure. How does the texting work? Do you have the option to turn the predictive text off? Can you continue typing through the suggested words if all the suggestions are wrong? I'll be switching from the Motorola Q I've got some worries about leaving the Windows mobile OS and also leaving a full sized keyboard for the two letter keys that the BB pearl has. Appreciate anyone's advice

  1. Actually, I believe that one of the ADVANTAGES of the BlackBerry is that it does NOT have Windows Mobile on it.

The SureType technology of the Pearl does have a predictive text option, and you can continue to type through a word if the options listed aren't the one you want. You can also disable the SureType technology if you like and use what is called MultiTap. The SureType is recommended as the device will learn the words you use most.

  2. well this is just my oppinion but the pearl is NOT a good phone.

    Here's y:

    1) ur right SURETYPE  is like T9 predictive texting

    2) It does not have windows mobile

    3) It is not 3g, a bunch of apps and future technology will require this if u want to get the most out of ur phone (pssst: you can't use FRING with a blackberry since it does not have windows mobile nor is it 3g!)

Fring can dramatically lower ur phone costs (AIM, calls, etc.) as a heads up
