Verizon Landline Account Help?

My grandfather would like to change his account for his home phone. The account is under my grandmother's name but she passed away a year ago. There is no long distance on the phone right now (because my grandmother wanted it that way).

Now my grandfather would like the phone to be in his name with long distance calling. But he'd like to keep the old number. Is this possible? I can't talk to anyone from Verizon until monday.

You need to talk to Verizon, they will ask him to send or fax a copy of the death certificate, and then he can change the name and change the service.

You'd be better off canelling the account, and getting him a cell phone with unlimited long distance.

Dump Verizon!!!
