Question:

Verizon Phone Fell Into Pool?

Ok...I have a Samsung Glyde. I was pulled into the pool and my phone got wet. I was in the pool for less than five seconds. Now when I try to turn it on the screen is just white. The screen also fogs up when it is off. Can I fix my phone? I don't have insurance and I don't want to buy a new one.

Please help!

  1. It depends on if the water damage thing is fully red and if it is your just pretty much screwed if none of that helps.. you just got to have a buy a new phone.

  2. Take out the battery and place the phone near a fan or "dry" place and just let it set for a few days. It might work again, it might not. Some wet phones do come back so just keep your fingers crossed. I have also heard placing the phone in a bowl of uncooked rice will draw out the moisture. Good luck.

  3. Take out the battery.  Use a hair dryer for about 5-10 minutes.  Then put the phone and battery in a bag of rice for about 3-5 days.  Just check on it from time to time.

My boyfriend jumped in a lake with his phone and his phone wouldn't turn on.  We used this method and slowly it started working again.  Day 2 it would turn on but with a white screen but phone still wouldn't work.  Day 3 he could make and recieve calls but screen was still white.  Day 4 works great...screen and everything.

  4. ooooopsy daisy!

    wait until it completey dries.

i heard of some people putting it in the oven at a very low temp.  i wouldn't try it though.

don't have you phone by the pool!

  5. Never turn your phone on when it's wet.

G'Dog is correct, rice does draw moisture away.  A similar situation happened to me. I had the v365 and it got wet. Everything worked fine after I dried it out, except for the backlight.

I have Verizon, and you can purchase a phone online and then swap services if all else fails. I just did this 3 days ago.
