Question:

Verizon Wireless - R U about to be fired too?

Why are so many people getting fired from Verizon Wireless? I'm told that Verizon management is setting their employees up for failure by setting goals that cannot be reached. Does this have anything to do with their acquisition of Altell? It's horrible when a big company like Verizon thinks only about money and forgets about their hard-working employees who have invested many many years working for them. What does this at-will employee stuff mean? What impact will the firings at Verizon Wireless have on our economy as people lose their incomes and can no-longer pay for their home where their children live or be able to buy food for them? Is this where our tax dollars will be going to - to pay for the food stamps those ex-Verizon Wireless employees will be needing? I don't get it - there should be a law against big companies abusing our society like this.

  1. It's SOP.  Wall Street always expects 10% cut on staff after a merger.  Anything less will affect the stock price.

  2. They are outsourcing their customer service & tech support reps, that's why there customer service is getting so bad, so now they can fire all the reps working for them and out source so they don't have to pay them very much and don't have to provide benefits. They are all about making money and that's it period. Why do you think they charge there customers so many fees.
