Verizon blackberry camara won't zoom.?

My friends blackberry from verizon, has the little um ball type thing that if you roll it up it is suposed to zoom. But when I tried his, it wouldn't work it just showed a little explimation point in a sunshine looking picture in the corner. Anybody know how to fix this?

I think you can only zoom when you are taking a video.

The exclamation point icon is just there to tell you that -- because of low light - the shutter speed is reduced and the picture may turn out blurry.

Rolling the trackball should always work to zoom the camer... except in video mode, in which case no zoom is available.  

There is a known problem that zoom sometimes becomes disabled.  You can correct this by a hard-reset... make sure the Blackberry is turned ON and open the back and remove and replace the battery.  You'll have to wait a little while for the Blackberry to reboot, but then your camera zoom should be working.

Note that in addition to the trackball, you can also zoom in and out using the volume up/down keys.
