Verizon landline long distance?

Question

I was just wondering if I have Verizon at my house and it doesn't have long distance..i live in NY city and the person I want to talk to lives in Yonkers (dif area code and everything) except its pretty close by. If I call I have to pay for the long distance. rite? but what if he calls?

if your friend calls you. he pays the charge for long distance and not you. but if you call him you will pay for it.
