Question:

Verizon roaming in Michigan that borders Canada?

I just bought my phones with Verizon to keep in contact with my daughter. My daughter goes to Michigan Tech in Houghton, Mi and I live in Lansing, Mi. She and I seem to be accumulating roaming minutes when we talk. Is this possible and can I be charged for it? I'm on the family plan. A Verizon guy told me it is "bouncing" to Canada because the signal is stronger than in the U.P. of Michigan. I told him I didn't care. I wasn't in Canada and told him to take it and 4 more years worth of roaming charges on calls to my daughter off my bill. Any input?

  1. Hi. I've been a Verizon costumer for years and have been very pleased with their costumer service. We live in WA. state and will bounce off of towers in Victoria Canada and acquire roaming charges. When this happens I'll call Verizon and they are more than happy to work with me and Verizon has always given me credit for roaming charges that bounce off of Canada towers. I suggest calling Verizon again and hopefully you will get someone different to deal with. Keep your cool and explain your situation about roaming charges and ask them to credit or reverse the charges.

    Good luck

  2. ya that sucks, but then again, so does verizon.  hate to tell you the bad news, but your probably going to have to go back every other month or so, and do the same thing you have already done.  There's nothing you can really do about it
