We are beginner/moderate snowboarders coming from NJ but hate the crowds. Any suggestions on where to go for a long weekend?

  1. DUDE GO TO KILLINGTON.   THE MOUNTAIN IS SO BIG YOU WONT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT CROUDS

  2. in central vermont--okemo mountain has pretty wide trails that leaves some extra shoulder room compared to other resorts.... way up in northern vermont jay peak typically sees fewer crowds due to the extra drive required but isn't that geared towards beginner/moderate snowboarding (still way more skiiers than boarders there and it is known more for glade skking than trail skkiing).......some of the smaller family resorts like smuggs, pico or ascutney mountain may be better choices than the biggies and cheaper lift rates.. of those i would recommend ascutney to avoid lift lines..pico is better but because of its proximity to killington it may see some crowds but it's still worth a try...unfortunately its pretty tough to avoid crowds on weekends especially when we're having as good of a season as this...if you could, turn it into a 3 day weekend by getting there thursday night and riding friday--at least you'ld have one day of fewer crowds

  3. go when it is really cold cuz no one likes to go when its really cold
