The promising http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 seamer, Vernon Philander, who has recently been named as the CSA Cricketer of the Year 2011-12, has said that he is looking forward to the England tour to kick start the 2012-13 season in an equally impressive way.
The 26-year-old Bellville born right-arm medium pacer claimed the top South African award at the 2012 CSA awards ceremony in Johannesburg on Wednesday. Ecstatic after winning the accolade, Philander said that his next target is England, however he
insisted that he will keep it one game at a time.
"The next step is England but I will plan my strategy one game at a time," insisted Philander. "I've been playing county cricket for the last few months, so hopefully I can use everything I've learned there and put it into play against England," he
added further.
The right-arm seam bowler, who made his Test debut against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 at home, in November last year, reached fifty wickets in only 139 days, less than five months from his debut, which was the second-fastest fifty ever in history of Test cricket.

He claimed six five-fors in his first seven matches, two each against Australia, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758. He also bagged Man of the Series award in his maiden Test series against Australia, returning with astounding figures of 14 for 195 from two
matches, including 8 for 78 at Cape Town. The seamer termed his Test debut against Aussies as the most special moment of his life.
Philander’s success at the international level earned him Somerset's deal for the 2012 County Championship. The South African is at County Ground, Taunton, right from the start of the county season and has so far played five matches for the club, claiming
23 wickets.
South Africa, currently ranked as the world's number two Test side, are scheduled to tour http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 in July this year. The itinerary will provide the Proteas an opportunity to dethrone England as the World No. 1 Test side.
Philander is hopeful his experience of England conditions by playing in the county championship would prove handy in the three-match Test series against the Poms, starting at Kennington Oval on July 19.
