Vernon Philander, who has been recently named as South Africa’s sportsman of the year, is overjoyed to have achieved the award and is geared up to deliver the goods for his country in future as well.

Since then, the right-arm seamer has been an integral part of the South African Test team, helping his side become the number one ranked unit of the world. Till date, Philander has picked up 63 scalps in the 10 Tests he has played for the Proteas.
The new-ball bowler is jubilant to have been given such recognition and admitted that he is finding it hard to control his emotions.
