Verraszto, Bernek and Povazsi clinch their races in Debrecen: Hungarian Long Course Nationals 2011
Three more impressive performances were witnessed at the Hungarian Long Course Nationals 2011, as Evelyn Verraszto, Peter Bernek and Esther Povazsi dominated their respective events including the Women’s 50m butterfly, Men’s 200m back-stroke and Women’s
50m back-stroke. The meet was held in Hungary, on June 24, 2011.
Evelyn Verraszto snatched the Women’s 50m butterfly race with a winning time of 27.37 seconds. Eszter Dara secured the second spot in the corresponding meet with a time of 27.43 seconds, while Tompa Orsolya earned third place honours after touching the finishing
wall in a time of 27.98 seconds.
In the second meet of the event, Peter Bernek took home the Men’s 200m back-stroke title with a victorious time of 1 minute and 58.51 seconds. The second spot in the 200m back-stroke was clinched by Gabor Balog, with a winning time of 1 minute and 59.34
seconds. David Verraszto rounded out the top three in the respective event with a time of 2 minutes and 01.00 seconds.
Esther Povazsi wound up first in the Women’s 50m back-stroke category with a triumphant time of 29.57 seconds. Esther Dara settled for second spot in 29.59 seconds, while Tompa Orsolya stood at third position on the podium with a time of 30.08 seconds.
Earlier, Eva Risztov snagged the Women’s 800m freestyle crown with a sterling time of 8 minutes and 29.23 seconds. The win moved her to 12th
spot in the world rankings. She also took home the Women’s 400m freestyle crown with a captivating time of 4 minutes and 07.99 seconds.
Gergo Kis nabbed the Men’s 400m freestyle crown with a winning time of 3 minutes and 49.98 seconds. He also snatched the 1500m freestyle title with a sterling time of 15 minutes and 15.82 seconds, along with the 800m freestyle win in a time of 7 minutes
and 55.30 seconds.
Some more meets are scheduled to be held in the event, which include the Men’s 50m breast-stroke, Men’s 100m back-stroke, Women’s 100m breast-stroke, Women’s 100m butterfly and Men’s 100m freestyle.
