Question:

Versa, Fit, or Matrix

I have narrowed my next car to these models, the Nissan versa, Honda fit, or Toyota matrix. I don't car what car looks better, they all look about the same to me so regardless of how ugly people say they are I don't care. They all get about the same gas mileage so there is no debate there for me, all of them are just as safe as the other, and I am not worried about the prices so that is a none issue. What I am concerned with is the inside room. Focused manly on at 6 feet will I be comfy and will there be room behind me. I drive with my seat all the way back, leaned back too, so can another tall person fit back there with out their knees digging into my back?

  1. I suggest going to the respective dealer for each model, and sitting in them with the seat exactly how you will drive, and seeing how much room is left in the back. I have a pontiac Vibe (same car as the Matrix, you might consider it), and it has tons of room in the back seat, plus the back seats fold completely flat to fit lots of cargo back there. I don't think you can go wrong with any of those, however.

  2. For your height and seating position, the Fit is way too small and the Matrix is your best bet. It's quite roomy, compared to the others. Tons of cargo space too.

  3. The Honda Fit should have the most room.

Either on the Honda website or a commercial, they show that you can fit a surf board in the car with the seats folded down.

All of these cars are taller than your average car and can fit very tall people.

The Honda is also most reliable, best handling, and most fun to drive.

  4. I can only answer in respect to the Versa since that is the only one I test drove. We had 4 people in the car while test driving. On the right side, my female passenger who is about 5'8 sat in the front and a male passenger 6'7 fit behind her with enough leg space to not even touch the back of her chair. It is AMAZING space length wise. Although the taller passenger did not fit in the front.
