Verse you must say for a fast to be valid?

I once read that you had to recite a certain verse before you fast for it to be valid. Is this true? What is it?

Just make intention of fasting( whatever fast, Fard, Sunnah, Nafl) the next day b4 going to bed and wake up have sahoor and keep the fast

There is not a fixed verse from the Koran. All that counts is the intention of fasting the next day that is all. Intention as in prayers. And U don't have to spell it out , it could be said ( heartily). God knows ones intention, &thats what 'd B taken in account.

You know.. I was always taught that in Islam, Allah doesnt make things hard on us and to not overdo or overthink anything or he will make it difficult..

I am certain that if you dont know enough duas or your arabic is weak.. If you are of the soul, mind, and heart and just pray in your mind to Allah like you are talking to anyone, and make the full intent and effort and ask Allah to accept your fast then it will be valid as long as you did the fast correctly...

There is no dua for fasting.  It is obligatory to make intention before azan of Fajr to fast the next day.  There is a dua to be recited at the time of breaking the fast. i.e., Allahumma laka sumtu, wa bika amantu, wa ala rizkika aftartu (I have fasted, believed in you and broken the fast with the food provided by you).  There are other masnoon duas also.

Yes. Ill edit my answer when i remember it lol but u have to make a "Niyat" the very first day to fast for the whole month and there is a verse that u have to recite before breaking your fast..just can't remember it atm

no , the only thing that you have to do (except in ramadan month) that you must have the intention to fast the next day , eg if you wanna fast on monday you must have the intention to fast on monday during sunday night

There is a dua to say, but its not required.  All that you have to do is make the intention of fasting.
