Question:

Vertical Diplopia???

I was officially diagnosed with it When I was about twelve. You can see it in all my baby photo's. I'm almost sixteen now. My eye doctor suggests surgery, but I can't use eye drops, or even put my own contacts in. I guess you could say, anything touching my eye's is a really big fear of mine.

Does vertical diplopia worsen over time? Could I eventually go blind?

Please help.

Please don't answer if you don't know what I'm talking about.

  1. Usually is stable.  Will not make you go blind.

Do you actually see double all the time? or would the surgery just be cosmetic?

If you see double, vertical prism in your glasses may help.  If you don't see double, then treatment is optional.
