Verticillium wilt?

If a tomato plant has verticillium wilt, should one destroy the plant and the fruit, or can one finish the season and eat the fruit?

  1. There is no cure for it... once it has been gotten it will take over...You can leave the tomatoes on the vine still but do not let them ripen there..once they get any color at all on the bottom just slightly going yellow then the faintest hint of any pink/red..pull them and put them in a brown paper bag with a banana in it to finsh off the ripening..do not leave on the vine for they will rot due to the wilt..this is the only way to save the fruit...
