Tottenham Hotspur’s Belgian centre-half and summer signing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jan-Vertonghen-c17814 has said that he is ‘loving’ life in the English top flight and is very happy at White Hart Lane.
The 25-year old defender moved to White Hart Lane during the summer from Dutch champions Ajax, and has settled right in at the club.

Tottenham had been chasing Vertonghen for quite some time, with the Belgian himself showing a keen interest in joining the North London club.
The former Ajax captain has been one of the most consistent and highly rated players in the Dutch Eredivisie, and it came as no surprise when clubs such as Tottenham and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 started showing an interest in the player.
Vertonghen had publicly stated his preference for Spurs, but his transfer was halted due to contract issues. At one point, it seemed highly unlikely that the player would move to England. However, a deal went through the he signed for the club in June.
The player is a versatile defender and can play at left-back, central defence and the defensive midfield position. Tottenham have truly acquired a quality player, and judging from his recent performances, it looks as if he is settling in quite well.
Speaking to the press after Tottenham managed their first home win of the season, Vertonghen said:
“I love it [the Premier League]. There is a great ambiance. I love it here, the atmosphere is amazing, some of the best players in the world and an amazing team."
“But it is a shame we have to struggle every game until the last minute. I think at the end of the year I'll need a good vacation!”
The player then talked about the comeback against QPR and added:
“They [the fans] were not too happy in the first half, we want to dominate and play our own game at home and we struggled at that. I'm very happy with the second half. I think we did very well, a good tactical decision from the manager.”
Vertonghen will travel with the Spurs squad to face Carlisle City in the League cup on Wednesday and then to Old Trafford to play Manchester United on the weekend.
