Tottenham Hotspur signing, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jan-Vertonghen-c17814 is happy with his decision to move to the club and has revealed that he is learning from his new teammates and defensive partners.
Vertonghen stated that he is taking lessons from his centre-back partners at the club and is learning from them. The centre-half admitted that he hopes to contend for a first team spot and his new squad mates are helping him settle and improve.
The Belgian is currently on tour with the rest of the Spurs squad in the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/United-States-c3034. The player arrived from Dutch club Ajax earlier this month after a considerably lengthy transfer saga which at one point looked set to end with Vertonghen staying with
his former club.
A move to Tottenham looked unlikely, but luck favoured Vertonghen and he was finally able to finalize the move to White Hart Lane. The defender had openly stated his desire to leave Ajax for Tottenham and finally got his wish when Ajax agreed to let the
player go.

Speaking to the English media, Vertonghen said:
"We have to create a feeling that we can trust each other and we're working on that in training and during the games.”
"I've played with Michael Dawson, Gallas and today with Kaboul and they're great defenders. I'm learning from them."
The player believes that trust will be the most crucial factor in all of Spurs’ defensive pairings next season. He added:
"(Pre-season is) very important, especially these games and playing 90 minutes.”
"You have to be fit for the Premier League, it's a totally different league to the Dutch league.”
"That's why I'm working on it. I'm training every day and doing my best and I hope I can play a full season."
