Tottenham Hotspur’s summer signing Jan Vertonghen was thrilled with his goal in the 2-3 victory against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Tottenham beat the former English champions at their own turf for the first time since 1989 in a historic win that is sure to please Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas.
The Portuguese manager has now managed three consecutive victories in the Premier League, proving his doubters and critics wrong.
There was much criticism surrounding his appointment as Tottenham manager, especially in light of his 6-month unsuccessful stint in charge of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 last year. Many expected the former Porto manager to be a flop at White Hart Lane when his appointment was
announced in July.
The club had a very poor start to the campaign under Villas-Boas, losing their Premier League opener to Newcastle in a 2-1 score line. This was followed by three draws; two of which were played out at White Hart Lane.
The Spurs faithful had already starting showing their disappointment and disgruntlements when they booed the team off the pitch following their second draw against Norwich City.
Tottenham had spent quite a lot of money over the summer, acquiring some impressive and big name players to form a new look squad. However, the team was having trouble combining and gelling together.
