My hamster is a syrian female... she lately has become very sick. I thought it was wet tail or ring worm but now i know it isnt. Because when i first took her out this evening her back legs were completely paralyzed, she was rolling around on me. And yesterday her front legs were paralyzed. I was wondering if it might be the nuerologic disease hamsters get because she is fairly old. She hasnt eaten in days and i have to hand water her. I was wondering about euthanization, Please help me.

  1. hamsters only live for 2 years usually at the most. so if shes 2 years, then that might be the reason. i remember before mine died, he was stumbling around his cage, it was so sad.

  2. Hold him close to your heart? im not sure how it helps but my sister has told me to do that with my hamster and my nephews two hamsters.

  3. She clearly needs a vet

  4. take her to the vet and get his or her opinion. there might be a medication to help her. but if not, you don't want her to suffer so yes, consider euthanization if there is no way she can be helped.

  5. have her put to sleep, it's like $25.

  6. I would take her to the vet and get her checked out. After that, you may have to make a decision.

  7. well u obviously need to take her to the vet..but by now it might be to late..i hope she end up ok..best of luck

  8. the best thing for the hamster is to humanly euthinize her. i'm sorry.

  9. This happened to my dwarf hamster too, three days before she died. She wasn't paralyzed, but did not like to move at all. Hopefully she will not hang on much longer before she goes. It is sad to see them suffer.
