Very Strange Eye Problem....No Clue Please Help?

I got up this morning, and i had a few "eye boogers" which i rubbed out like any person would when waking up. I got ready for work, put my contacts in (a brand new pair), and went to work. I started to notice some irritation in one eye and in about an hour i had to goto the restroom and take my contact out , had to clean it with water b/c no solution to use at work. I put the contact back in and it was ok for a bit....then it just feels like an eyelash was poking me in the eye, especially when I blinked. I had to stay at work for another hour and finally i had to leave b/c the irritation was so bad my eye was red and watering. I took the contacts out immediatley when I get home. *Now my eye that was bugging me the vision is not clear, kind of foggy and out of focus, and it still somewhat irritated*. I've rinsed it, looked and cannot find anything, i notice more irritation in the corner of my eye next to my nose. This is driving me crazy and I dont know what to do, any suggestion

  1. Go see a doctor. One thing you don't want is Acanthameoba Eye Infection. And these suckers love the summer weather.

  2. Could be "pinkeye", aka conjunctivitis.

That is no more than an unspecific eye infection. You really need an antibiotic to clear it up, so see your eye-care pro or a regular doc.

Had my first & only case of it 2 years ago--after wearing contacts for 30 years!!

  3. First of all, never use water to clean your contacts. If you can't find solution just leave it out of your eye and go get some solution or ask someone to get it for you. Tap water is not very clean for you to use with your contacts.

It really sounds like a bacterial conjunctivitis. If you're getting mucous secretions in the color of yellow to green at the corners of your eyes every couple of hours then it's most likely bacterial. Your cloudiness comes from the inflammation that the reaction of the bacteria is causing on your eyes. Definitely go see an optometrist and throw those contacts away. Don't wear contacts again until your problem has resolved completely. This is why contact lens wearers need a pair of glasses for back up.

  4. It sounds like you have the start of pink eye.  If it is, you'll have more eye boogers tomorrow and visable redness.  Your DR will prescribe an antibiotic, either in the form of eye drops or oral.  A tip, though, the oral one tastes BAD.  You'll want to use something like Clorox wipes on doorknobs, your desk, anything you've touched.  You'll probably have to pitch the contacts, too.

  5. swim lately

    cause then its swimmers eye

    i get it sumtimes

  6. See a doctor, eyes are something to never take chances with
