I have a very active 15 month old that loves to run around, yell, 'jump', play with balls, toys, etc. I don't feel like we are getting enough 'constructive' play for her activity level. What are some good things to enroll her in? how old does she need to be for gymnastics, dance, etc? i don't want to put her in a class where her activity level will be frowned on. i want her to be able to be as active as possible, but start learning appropriate ways to be active. does that make sense?

  1. idk

  2. I know exactly what you mean. I have this 15month old boy, Joel who's extremely active.  He hardly sleeps and always wants to do things, play with things and climb things.  Everyone's amazed as to how active he is.  I think it's just a stage they go through, though not so common.  You should let her continue being active:  keep a close eye on her to make sure she doesn't hurt herself with some of the things she gets into contact with.  What I also do is go to the beach and park with him and let him run since it's safe to do so.  That helps to cool him down a bit.  You cant help but love them though and be amazed by how fast they're learning and how smart they are.

  3. Yes, it does make sense and is a very good idea, just not yet. A 15 month old is still too young for any type of sport, I know it'll take awhile, but wait till she's at least 3. You can teach her constructive ways of being active from home.

  4. Mom and me class .

  5. You can enroll for at Gymboree, Tumbletots or any available play gym. Both my sons went to Gymboree and Tumbletots. After the class they usually have a good long nap. LOL!

  6. I think signing her up for dance is a great way, my cousin did that with her daughter almost the same age as yours. It helped a lot!

    hope it helped!

  7. Check with your local gymnastics club or park and rec for gymnastincs, I believe they start around 2. Usually called tumbling.

Swimming is also great, I regret never putting my son in swimming. He is now 12 and a lilttle scared of the water.

  8. Lots of loosely structured activities, at home, playgroups, early childhood classes.

  9. check to see what types of early childhood classes are offered in your area. gymboree and my gym are great places for kids to work off a lil energy. do you have a recreation center in your area? usuallly they will offer classes at a much more afforable rate. have you thought about swimming? You might have her enrolled in a swim class or have an instucter come to your home if you have a pool.(unless she already knows how, then you can just take her) Do a search of the types of centers and classes offered in your area for  children. That way you can compare cost, location, class material, read reviews etc.
