My back was hurting for a few days now, but it was nothing bad that I couldnt handle...it'd felt like I slept wrong, which happens to me a lot, so I didnt take it seriously. But now, almost a week later, there is a severe pain right under my shoulder, right next to the left of my spinal cord...I've been doing heavy lifting this week, so I wonder if it worsened because of that, but now theres a lump/bump there...its hard for me to move the upper left side of my body and my left arm to an extent...

I'll also mention that I've had scoliosis surgery, but that was almost a decade ago, and I've had no problems since then. What do you guys think is up?

  1. Sounds like a severe muscle pull and since you did some extra heavy work, sore muscles releasing lactic acid.

Try taking some prescription strength motrin, 800 mg three times a day.  Take it with food to avoid hurting your stomach.  It reduces pain and swelling.

Take a hot bath and see if that helps reduce some of the pain.  If that helps, you probably can use a heating pad to reduce pain.

Once the immediate pain has gone away, get a good massage.  You may need a couple to work out the muscle imbalance.

I don't think that the surgery would affect anything at this point.  However, if the above stuff doesn't work, if you get worse, you need to check in with a doctor, just in case any of the internal screws are working their way out.
