Very fast wired, Very slow WiFi?

Question

My 2 wireless PC's get up to 2,000kbps download speeds

My wireless laptop get's up to 30kbps on the same download...

When I wire it though I can get about 1,600kbps - 2,000kbps

This is very strange behaviour and my card is built in, been fine until I installed new OS, I just dl the drivers for the WiFi card and I still have the same problems...

Anyone help me...?

It could be the Wireless Card you are using to connect to the router.

If not then its the wireless router

Try and setup your wireless router like this:

Channel 11

Japan Mode (boosts signal)

Access Filtering (Mac address)

Two options available...Do both!

1. By newer faster better wifi cards for the PC's. It is worth it in the long run, and if your not tech savvy go for number 2.

2. By a new router. Although you use PC's i highly recommend the apple - http://www.apple.com/airportextreme/

It is PC compatible, and extremely worth the cost.

While you may be looking for a free option, unfortunately, it will most likely not be available in your circumstance. I'd go with the new router.
