  1. Why don't you just do your own internet searches on the above-cited plants?  That's how I did it and over time I've developed my own style that works for me, as you have to consider YOUR location, your altitude, your weather, your soil conditions.   Every garden even has its own microclimates.  There's a lot of preparation that needs to be done to the ground (soil) before you can plant well.

Talk to your local garden club.  Contact the county extension office.  They both provide free advice.  Even many (but not all) garden center workers know a bit about growing local vegetables.

Here in AZ we have almost ten months of good growing and can often get two whole seasons of vegetables.  Right now I'm up to my ears--no pun intended!--with sweet corn, beans and peppers and soon more beets, peas and spinach.

I don't mean to be rude, but the first thing all gardeners and beginners have to do before planting is do local research.

  2. The only problem is. Everyone else would be interested in

    harvesting "your" crop's too. <}:-})

  3. What you need is a few good books, all are very informative. spend your evening when the weathers not too good, gaining all the knowledge that  you will require, with your feet up..
