Very old machine needs "rubber band"

Question

I have a necchi-sewing machine that's about 40 years old - I don't have the machine number but is a model "super nova". After all these years of hard work the rubber band around the fly wheel has broken. Do you have any idea where I can get a replacement or what I can do to fix it? It feels a bit like losing a dear friend...
