Hello all, I know these are common symptoms but am trying to pin point cause. I do not have a stuffy nose, no coughing, or vomiting...just the symptoms stated above. I took my temperature last night and it was 99. Last night I kept waking randomly w/ the shivers but felt very hot. This has been happening for a few days now. Motrin stops the headache somewhat, but the throat and muscle aches still persist. Any ideas?

  1. the flu perhaps.

It's not like a cold when you get a blocked nose, the symptoms you describe sound like flu.  Take lots of fluids and rest - it can take a week in bed to get over bad flu.

If you get sensitive to lights and a stiffness in your neck then get emergency help as that could be meningitis.
