Im 38 weeks pregnant and since monday my feet have been very swollen. I work in an office so im mostly sitting at my desk all day. My right foot seems to be the worst and i can barely bend my toes. Is this normal feet swelling or does it seem a little excessive? I've tried putting my feet up but it doesnt seem to help. Im not doing alot of walking so im confused why my feet are swelling sooo much

  1. I would say call the doctor.

Same thing happen to be.  I sit at a desk 8 hours a day and it was causing bad problems with swelling.  The doctor took me off work.  Not bed rest.  Just off work so I could get up and get the blood pumping.

Drink lots of water!  I know you may think why should I put more in my body.  It does the opposite. Drink lots of water will help flush out your body.

Stay cool.  Go swimming.  When you go swimming the water reliefs pressure (baby) off your legs.  Letting the blood flow better.

Most of all check with doctor because he will need to make sure there's not something bad going on.

    Good luck Girl

  2. I am going through the same thing! I had a doctors appointment yesterday and he said there is many things it could be, salt intake, caffeine, just so much weight on your feet that were not used to etc. He told me to either keep my feet up (which has not helped me either) or he actually suggested wearing tighter shoes (I thought that was crazy lol) he suggests tennis shoes and pull the laces really tight and wearing socks to bed. It sounds crazy to me but I am trying it since he is the professional :)

  3. You should probably go get checked at your doctor.. that much swelling isn't good. Call your doc!

  4. yes some swelling is normal i didnt swell with my first but i made up for it with my 2nd you should tell your doc just in case but my doc told me yes it was normal and that in the heat you tend to sell more (had baby 6-17-08) make sure you drink extra water it will help and try and keep your feet up as much as possible. i also swelled after i had my babies. good luck

  5. This happened to me, and they said it could be my salt intake, and caffeine intake.

    Could it be that?
