Question:

Vet Bill Vet changed his policy after 3 years of doing business with me this way?

"my vet made arrangements for me to pay my bill off in monthly installments 3 years ago when I began seeing him in order to get my business. Now his partner's wife has sent me a letter demanding the balance be paid off in a month's time, and I can't do that. What should I do? I don't have the money, and I think it's an unfair practice, especially when I have always paid my bill with him. We have excellent credit.

I am going to just make monthly payments till the bill is satisfied, and then take my business somewhere else. Is this a good idea?

  1. I am not a lawyer.  But I am pretty sure that the fact that they accepted monthly payments for a period of three years indicates their implicit agreement to those contractual terms.  Unless they can show a signed document that you agree to the change in the terms of the original agreement, they can't do anything to you - or if they try, you have an excellent case.

  2. call and tell them, his partners wife may not know about the agreement

  3. I bet the partner's wife just recently started doing the books. You can probably work something out. If not, just keep making your payments and move onto another vet.

  4. Have you talked to the Vet himself and ask why he is doing that especially since you pay every month? I don't think they can do much as long as you continue to make payments.Do you have anything in writing to that effect if not you have learned always get things in writing and defiantly get a new Vet.
