Vet & Vet Tech question?

Question

Do vet techs just go through 2 years of college and then get the job or do they have to go to vet school also??

And if aa vet tech decided lter on to become an actual vet, what would they have to do?

i need to know that too. i am soooo wanting to be a vet.

Vet Techs may not even be licensed in some states.  The standard vet tech program to be a certified vet tech is usually a 2 year program.  No vet school is involved.  If a vet tech decides later they want to be a vet, they will have to fulfill the course prerequisites for vet school (which won't be even close to having been met in a vet tech program).  Look here: http://www.aavmc.org/vmcas/documents/Pre... for the courses required to get into vet school.
