Veteran Formula 1 driver Michael Schumacher concerned about his age – Formula 1 news
The seven-time Formula 1 world champion Michael Schumacher has recently stated that he always wanted to know how he would look like if he had a beer belly which people of his age normally develop.
Schumacher, who is over 40 years old, is trying his best to perform at his best physically.
“I am always going on about how I would look with a beer belly. Fortunately, I'm vain enough to put in even more work in the gym,” he told a German fitness magazine, Fit for Fun.
The 42-year-old returned to Formula 1 in 2010 after his friend and former teammate Ross Brawn came up with his own team back in 2009.
Brawn introduced the team in 2009 by the name BrawnGP and secured the championship in its debut season after which the German driver decided to join the team as well in order to secure the best possible results for them and perform in the sport he loves
so much.
Unfortunately, the team has not been able to produce some good results as they are now a mid-running team instead of a top running team which is quite disappointing for Schumacher.
Before that, he retired in 2006 after losing championship twice to the current Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso who became the youngest champion of the sport back then.
From 2000-2004, Schumacher secured 5 back to back championships which is the longest championship run by any team or any driver in the history of the sport. He has secured seven world championships and holds almost all of the records of Formula 1.
It would be great to see him on top one day once again but it seems that Mercedes GP are currently struggling to perform well compared to the top running teams. The competition is a bit too fierce now and coming up with a championship-winning car is going
to take some time.
Nevertheless, the team has secured some pretty good results as well including Michael’s 5th place finish at this past weekend’s Italian Grand Prix.
