Veteran Mohammad Yousuf beats Abdul Rauf Kurd in league matches of 3rd Ranking Snooker event
Penultimate day of the league matches of Jubilee Insurance Third Ranking Snooker Championship finished at the Karachi Gymkhana Club featuring leading potters on top who might surge into the quarter-final stage of the event. One of these potters is the veteran
cueman Mohammad Yousuf who is still struggling in league matches.
However, despite a slow start in the tournament the former International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) World Snooker Championship winner is going well. In his recent match against Abdul Rauf Kurd, the Punjabian was able to register another victory
in his account by the score line of 4-3 after winning the decisive frame.
The match up was quite tussling as both potters went neck-to-neck throughout the match but eventually Yousuf prevailed in the end. After tumbling one frame down at 0-1 when Kurd fired a classy break to win the first frame by the score line of 37-65, Yousuf
sprang back impressively with two straight frame victories by 79-32 and 60-18 to move one frame up at 2-1.
The fourth frame was the toughest contest as the pair gave their best to stay in the game. However, Kurd took the lead and pulled level at 2-2. The next two frames were also shared equally and the match up was sent into the decider frame where experience
proved itself and Yousuf claimed the match triumph by 4-3.
