Question:

Veterinaries, do (other) animals' metabolisms become slower as they age?

My dogs are old, but I don't see any bellies on them.

I'm asking this just to confirm that no other animals show their age on their appearances as much as humans.

They show some of the same changes that we do as they get older.  Many dogs do tend to gain weight with age.  But if you have continued to give them the same amount of food and the same walkies each day, they will not tend to get much heavier.  Humans might not be so good at controlling diet and exercise for themselves!
