Vets plz fish help 10 points for best answer?

Question

my fish has a a big lump under his neck and stomach i called fish world they said it might be a tumor

but they said it might be an air bubble also they said to put epsom sault for 4 days and 4 kernals each day in his tank im on my secound day and it doesnt look beter any other soulutions oh ive been putting a pinch of epsom salt instead

he is a betta and the bump looks like its filled with fluid it was my class pet and the teacher gave it to me ive had him since the begging of summer hes still eating and every thing help

The problem is that you have two fish in a really small environment, and probably is water quality related.

Put him in a large bowl of at least two gallons.

Make sure you're changing his water if you don't have a filter.

If its on its back, its not pregnant.  You'd be able to tell the difference very easily.

Epson salt should help, but really the problem is what you have him in.

Bad water quality + medication = dead fish.

How often do you clean the water in his bowl.  

Best way btw to tell male/female is to look underneath the betta.  If it has a white spot (looks almost like a zit) under its belly - thats a eggspot and is a female.

Females CAN become males if they have to, but not vis versa.

My Oscar had a tumor they thought it was a bladder issue. If you have a frozen pea, peel it and make him eat it.  He kept eating till he couldn't swim because of his tumor. His tumor grew to a tennis ball in one month before he died.

Sorry , I know its gonna be hard on ya.There is something about the pea that will relieve a bladder infection as well as brine shrimp. I tried but and I had to put him to sleep..

I had gone on line and did an on line Chat with Drsfostersmith.com.  I ended up buying a bottle of euthenasia from them for 2.99 with a 27.00 shipping. All it was was clove oil. Youi put 5 tablesopoons in a bucket and place the fish in the busket and put a towel over it. Wait a half hr, if still alive repeat.

Well MR Oscar refused to die, he was in a deep coma. So my husband wrapped him in a towel and put him in the freezer. Its just like humans lost in the snow they get cold and go to sleep and die peacefully. We removed him an hr later and buried him. He was 8 yrs old.

Are you sure its a boy cuz if its a female it could be pregnant.
