Red Bull Racing team has confirmed that double-world champion Sebastian Vettel and his Australian teammate Mark Webber will be driving at the end of the year celebration event on Saturday, December 10, 2011 which is scheduled to take place at its hometown
in Milton-Keynes.
Vettel clinched the drivers’ championship this year at the 2011 Japanese Grand Prix, making him the youngest ever Formula 1 driver to have won two titles in succession. A race down, the RBR team won the constructors’ title in Korea, Yeongam.
A delighted Red Bull Racing team with a desire to celebrate this huge achievement has planned a demo run for their drivers at Milton-Keynes, the centre of all team activities.
The drivers will be taking their Red Bull cars to the streets of Milton-Keynes to mark their superbly well performance this season and to celebrate their well-deserved back-to-back championship wins for 2011 which came after a season of persistent hard work
and consistent performance.
The Red Bull racing team duo will be driving for the first time in their hometown, from the Central MK – Saxon Gate to the MK station (Grafton Gate), along the Midsummer Boulevard in Milton Keynes. The show will also be attended by team principal Christian
Horner and chief technical officer Adrian Newey, whose contribution to the team’s extraordinary success all through the season have been noteworthy.
Horner said, “It's been home for our factory since Red Bull entered Formula One in 2005 and we get excellent support from the city; it will be fantastic to be able to put on a show and give something back. I think most of the staff will be attending with
their families, which I'm extremely pleased about.”
Horner extended his warm thanks to Adrian Newey who is the Union Council of Milton-Keynes for this phenomenal support and co-operation this season.
Newey said, “The city benefits enormously from having Red Bull based here. It shines a massive spotlight on the city, bringing in tourism, investment and providing hundreds of jobs locally, ensuring that MK is firmly on the map. It’s fantastic that both
drivers are confirmed for the event.”
The drivers along with Newey as well as Horner are really excited about this event and are really looking forward to this celebration event. People back at Milton-Keynes are also extremely happy as they will get to see the Red Bull pair in action.
