Vettel is not sorry after his clash with Karthikeyan in 2012 Malaysian GP – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing driver, Sebastian Vettel is not sorry for the indecent expression to Narain Karthikeyan of HRT in the 2012 Malaysian Grand Prix held at the Sepang International Circuit.
“Sometimes you let some emotion show and I don’t think someone should be ashamed about that,” he said. “It’s part of the sport.”
Moreover, after his clash with the Indian driver he said, “I lost a solid fourth place so that’s obviously disappointing.”
He also said that he expected to have a better set off in this season. Nonetheless, he said that there are many races ahead while he said that they have a competitive car to fight for the title.
“Of course I would have preferred a slightly better start (to 2011), but it’s a long season. We have a very good car and I still have a good chance — it is still the goal to fight for the title,” he said in Paris, where he accepted the ‘Grands Prix de l’Academie
des Sports 2011′ award.
The German driver has won the title in the last two seasons out of which he completely dominated during the preceding year in which he secured 11 victories out of 19 races.
Conversely, he has quite a struggling start this season as he has not been able to perform well during the qualifying of both the races.
Although, the double world champion managed to secure second podium finish in the season opener held at Albert Park in Melbourne, Australia. However, he could not score even a single point in the second race in Malaysia and ended at 11th position due to
his collision with Karthikeyan.
It would be important to mention here that Red Bull faced issues due to upgrades in the car during the last day of the final test held at Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona in which their driver, Vettel only covered 23 laps and remained last on the timesheets.
Nevertheless, the defending champions are still trying to explore the full potential of RB8 this year and making the necessary preparations for the upcoming races.
