Vettori continues to captain New Zealand side
Daniel Vettori has been retained as the captain of the New Zealand side, despite of team’s poor performances in the recent times. New Zealand has suffered eleven losses in a row and it is one of their longest losing streaks. Although New Zealand Cricket
Board refrains from changing the captaincy of the team as Vettori remains the skipper in all forms of cricket.
The Kiwis were whitewashed by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 in the One-day international series. NZC called for an improved performance after their team’s 4-0 drubbing in Bangladesh in October. The cricket board will be reviewing the performance of the team without dismissing
their captain.
Justin Vaughan, the NZC chief executive, “We need to go through a proper review and talk about what options there are to help the side improve," Justin Vaughan. "But I'd be hard pressed to believe the captaincy would be one of those issues."

Daniel Vettori, the New Zealand captain said "I look back on this one-day tour [of India] as one of the worst tours for me as a New Zealand cricketer," "That hurts a lot and it's embarrassing.”
Vettori further added, "I enjoy doing the job, but if the team needs to move forward without me, then so be it. I don't think it's the right answer but there's a committee set up and I'm sure they'll make some decisions."
Martin Crowe and Shane Bond were added to the New Zealand cricket committee in order to provide their expertise on the elite cricketing matters. Mark Greatbatch’s performance as a coach is under the examination of NZC.
However, Greatbatch is keen to stay as the coach of New Zealand until the world cup. The current coach wanted to end his coaching assignment on a high note.
New Zealand will be taking on http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 at home for series, which includes two Tests, six ODIs and two T20 matches. The upcoming series against Pakistan will decide the fate of Black Caps in World cup 2011 as this will be their last assignment before cricket’s
prestigious tournament.
