UNTERHACHING.
The victory was achieved by VfB at the following final set scores: 25-23, 21-25, 23-25, 25-23 and 15-12.
Vfb had to let go of their key opposite player Oliver Venno who got himself injured in the second set of the match as he could not maintain his balance after jumping forth for an attacking manoeuvre.
The head coach of the winning team, Stelian Moculescu, shared his views at the press conference after the match in this way, “Playing without opposite is not easy in modern Volleyball. Winning in spite of it shows that we are in a good shape.”
On the other hand, the VfB player Idi who also got the title of being the Most Valuable Player of the match, expressed himself in the following manner, “It was a great debut for Leo. He joined the game right after the injury of Oliver and he had to solve
a big problem. A victory like that demonstrated that our team is getting stronger and stronger.”
The first set of the match started off with both the teams coming out strong and neither letting the other take the lead for a long time. The entire opening set went back and forth with no one sure where the tables would turn.
Eventually, the VfB squad was able to assert itself and secure a win. The second and third set saw the Volleys make a comeback but the VfB saw to it that they took the match to a deciding fifth set. The final set of the match was fairly competitive with
the win going to the VfB in the end.
