VfB Stuttgart President Erwin Staudt all praise for Gerd Mauser- Bundesliga news
Current http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfB-Stuttgart-c40879 President Erwin Staudt has praised Gerd Mauser, who is all set to replace him for the role. He hailed Mauser’s leadership quality and insisted that he would surely make an instant impact at the club.
Erwin Staudt is all set to step down from the presidency role after being eight years on the post. He hailed the selection of Mauser and claimed that his immense experience with companies like Porsche and BMW would surely help
the club in a huge way.
The German added that the former Head of Marketing at Porsche has nine years of experience at the board level and his strategic decisions would help taking Stuttgart forward in the coming years.
“He had outstanding leadership at Porsche and BMW tasks he has successfully mastered. He has nine years as a board specific insight into the association. This makes it ideal to run a big company like VfB,” he was quoted as saying
in an interview.
The former IBM manager also played down reports that the club have had problems with the managers in charge over the past few years and that the board has not cooperated well. He disagreed with the charges that the club has not
offered support to the managers in charge which is the reason of the disappointing performances in the past season.
Stuttgart finished the last season in 12th place with 42 points with 12 wins and 16 losses. Die Roten have looked far from the team that won the Bundesliga in 2006-07 in the past years and their dominance has ended with
teams like Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen taking over.
Erwin added that the club was forced to make decisions in the case of Armin Veh and Markus Babbel and the problems cannot be revealed. The chief insisted that the decisions had to be made and were in favour of the team.
“No, I do not agree. If a coach had problems, no matter whether Veh or Babbel, are simply too many things running in the background, we could not make them public, but which have forced us to make decisions,” he concluded.
The 63-year old Erwin Staudt will step down before the next season starts.
