VfB Stuttgart defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christian-c9045 Trasch rejects contract extension- Bundesliga news
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfB-Stuttgart-c40879 defender Christian Trasch has rejected to sign a contract extension with the club. Die Roten offered the player a new deal to stay with the club until 2016 which was refused by the player. Trasch’s current contract
with the German giants expires in the summer next year.
Stuttgart had a disappointing season last term as they finished 12th on the standings table with 42 points from 34 games. The club ended the season only six points ahead of Borussia Monchengladbach, who played in the
Bundesliga relegation play-offs.
Trasch, who occasionally also plays in the central midfield, is reportedly not happy at the club and wants an exit in this summer’s transfer window with many top German clubs already in the race to secure his services. As the player
has refused to sign a new contract, Die Roten have no option but to sell him otherwise he could leave next summer on a free transfer. The club would want to cash-in on the defender and look for a replacement before the new season starts.
If reports are to be believed, Schalke, Wolfsburg and Bayer Leverkusen are lining up respective bids in the range of 10 million Euros to lure the German international. Bayer Leverkusen could be the defender’s most likely destination
as they have the advantage of offering him UEFA Champions League football.
But Stuttgart http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sporting-89-c40576 Director Jochen Schneider remains confident that the club will still reach an agreement with the player on signing the new deal. He claimed that things can change very quickly in football and he hoped that
the player will stay with the club and contribute his part in the next campaign.
“Of course we still have hope that Christian will accept our offer. The season is still long and in football, as we have experienced already, things can change during the season,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
Christian Trasch has made 83 Bundesliga appearances for Stuttgart in his three seasons with the club, scoring five goals. The defender also has two international caps to his name but is yet to score his first goal for the country.
