VfL Bochum manager Peter Neururer criticises Matthias Sammer and DFB – Football news
The VfL Bochum boss has blasted the German Football Association and Bayern Munich’s sporting director Matthias Sammer in a recent interview.
The tactician believes that Bayern Munich’s historical treble last season was because of the hard work of the players and claimed that Sammer had no role in the success. This was after a lot of people had credited Sammer for the successful campaign in which
the Bavarians won the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal and the UEFA Champions League.
Neururer claimed that Bayern could have won everything without Sammer and admitted that the sporting director should not be given any credit as he is not worthy of it.
“I don't know what Matthias Sammer is doing at Bayern Munich. What I do know is that Bayern claimed their success last season not because of, but despite having Matthias Sammer,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, the former Schalke and Hannover manager blasted the DFB for arranging meaningless fixtures for the national team. He stated that the DFB arranged matches against the likes of USA and Ecuador instead of sending young players for the German
Under- 21 side, which will be playing in the European Championship.
The manager added that some young players would have made a huge difference in the European Championship but DFB put the reputation at stake by announcing fixtures which will have no importance to anyone.
“What kind of idiots, from a footballing aspect, put the reputation of German football at stake for completely redundant friendly matches against the USA and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Israel-c2925?” he continued.
Neururer questioned the competence of some of the officials in the DFB and has admitted that they should be evaluated on their decisions.
“Everything that has been built over the last few years gets completely destroyed at one stroke. Those who made these decisions, should seriously re-evaluate themselves,” he concluded.
Peter Neururer has previously managed Schalke, Hannover, FC Koln and MSV Duisburg. The manager took over the reins at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Bochum-c40880 in April earlier this year and has won four out of the five games he has been the tactician of the side.
