Wolfsburg manager Felix Magath has insisted that his side fully deserved to win against Schalke in the Bundesliga fixture this weekend. The manager claimed that although his side had a poor start to the season, they are surely
coming back to the track with some impressive performances off-late.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 downed Schalke 2-1 in this weekend’s League fixture at the Volkswagen Arena and got their second win of the season. Magath faced his former club on Sunday at home and were down 1-0 in the 13th minute but Mario
Mandzukic’s brace in the match secured all three points for the team.
Magath claimed that his side deserved to win in the clash but were fortunate to get away with the result because Schalke were great in the first-half of the match and had many chances to score in the match. He claimed that Die
Knappen were the in-form team and were high on self confidence after three back to back wins in the Bundesliga.
“The win may have been slightly fortunate in the end, but by no means undeserved. At the beginning Schalke were the better team. It was clear to see that the opponents' self-confidence was high having gone into the game on the
back of three wins,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The former Schalke manager hailed his team after the amazing comeback and remained hopeful that the team keeps on performing with the way it has in this weekend’s match. He admitted that it was a very tough match with a quality
team and a win will give the player immense confidence for the remainder of the season.
“Eventually, though, we worked our way back into the game and we gave more than our opponents,” he concluded.
Wolfsburg have climbed the table to 13th place and have claimed six points from the five games played with two wins and three losses. The club will next face Hoffenheim at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena on Saturday, September
17, to make it two wins in a row for the first time this season.
