http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Wolfsburg-c40881 midfielder Christian Trasch has expressed his disappointment on the defeat against Bayer Leverkusen this past weekend. He claimed that the opposition was a much better side and deserved the victory in the end. He
admitted that his team made some silly mistakes which led to the loss on a day when the performance could surely have been much better.
The Wolves lost their recent league match to Bayer Leverkusen 3-1 at the BayArena. The away side were able to score only a single goal as they suffered their fifth defeat of the season. Felix Magath’s side are now in 13th
place with only nine points from the eight games played, winning only three times.
Trasch admitted that the home side played much better football and deserved to win the match in the end. He claimed that the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 scored in the second-half to make it 1-1 but made some silly mistakes to give the match away in
the last 30 minutes.
“Leverkusen were much better and they deserved to go 1-0 up. After that it was a relatively even match right through to the opening minutes of the second half. After our equaliser we conceded a silly goal that put us 2-1 down and
the game was more or less over after that,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The former Stuttgart player added that the team looked to equalise after conceding the second goal but failed to create the chances. The midfielder insisted that his team was desperately trying to score in the second-half to cancel
the lead but were caught on the counter and conceded the third.
“After going behind for the second time against Leverkusen we pushed for an equaliser, but that left us more open at the back and we conceded another goal on the counter-attack,” he concluded.
Christian Trasch made 83 league appearances for Stuttgart and scored five goals in the process before joining Wolfsburg in this summer’s transfer window. He also has nine international caps to his name and is yet to score his first
goal.
