VfL Wolfsburg central midfielder Makoto Hasebe has signed a new three-year contract with the club and extended his stay at the Volkswagen Arena. The Japanese midfielder’s previous contract ended in the summer next year after which
he would have left on a free transfer.

on the standings table with 38 points at the end of the campaign.
The club manager Felix Magath was elated on securing the extension for the player. He stated that the player is an integral part of the team and his performances in the upcoming season will be vital in the club’s success.
The former Schalke tactician claimed that Hasebe is a great player and his ability and skill has made him a key.
“I am delighted that Makoto has decided to stay with us and help us continue. He is a very strong player who has become an integral part of our team,” the manager was quoted as saying in an interview.
The Japanese international was overjoyed with the new contract and stated that he is happy to stay at the club. He claimed that his family is well settled in Wolfsburg and was delighted with the prospect of playing for some more
years with the Wolves.

on earlier successes,” the midfielder added.
Makoto Hasebe has so far made 107 appearances for Die Wolfe and scored three goals in the process. The midfielder also has 44 international caps to his name and was the part of the side that won the AFC Asian Cup in January this
year.
