VfL Wolfsburg midfielder, Diego, has reportedly received a hefty fine of 500,000 Euros for going against the decision of club’s manager, Felix Magath. The tactician had decided to leave the midfielder on the bench for Wolfsburg’s last game of the 2010/11
season against Hoffenheim. The Brazilian was reported to be leaving the club during the summer transfer window but decided against his departure after inviting attention from several clubs.
Former Schalke manager, Magath, decided to leave the 26-year-old on the bench for the game that was played on Saturday, May 14. This decision did not go well with the Brazilian as he stormed out of the team’s hotel in order to express his frustration without
even thinking of the consequences. This was http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-c11058’s second disciplinary fine during his debut season at Volkswagen Arena.
Previously the former Werder Bremen player was fined for breaching former manager Steve McClaren’s orders. The player went against his manager during a game against Hannover in February and stepped up to take a spot-kick, which had already been assigned
to one of his teammates. Diego eventually missed the penalty which certainly didn’t go well with the manager and officials at the club.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858 international didn’t have the best of debut campaigns with the former German champions but apologized to the officials at the conclusion of the season. He was linked with a host of other European outfits after his decision to leave the club at
the end of the season. The player ultimately decided to keep the knots tied with his current club and would feature again for Die Wolfe during the 2011/12 campaign.
The midfielder has 33 caps under his belt for his country ever since making his Brazilian debut in 2005. He also netted in four times during those games. Since joining Wolfsburg in 2010, Diego has managed 30 Bundesliga appearances to go along with six goals.
