VfL Wolfsburg’s Diego on verge of moving to Atletico Madrid – Bundesliga news

Diego mentioned that Atletico officials talked to him regarding his transfer and the move could take place in two days time. It is also believed that the Spanish outfit are preparing a 5 million Euro bid for the midfielder which might not be accepted by

The Spaniards have claimed that the player has agreed to make a move to the country and both clubs will soon reach an agreement regarding the final transfer amount. They were hopeful of acquiring the midfielder’s services during this summer. The Argentinean
had earlier made a move to Manchester City after spending five years with the Spanish outfit.
While talking to a local newspaper, the 26-year-old enthused, "We are still not clear, there is nothing official, but there is an offer for me. Atletico are a big club, but I still have a contract with Wolfsburg. This is a very important period for me."
Atletico Manager Gregorio Manzanao believes that the midfielder will be a healthy addition to the team. He has urged the higher authorities to push for the Brazilian’s transfer as Atletico prepare for the new season. The Reds and Whites will travel away
to take on Real Sociedad in their first game on Sunday, August 21.
