VfL Wolfsburg’s Felix Magath introduces different fines at Volkswagen Arena - Bundesliga news
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Wolfsburg-c40881 tactician Felix Magath has introduced a new fine system at the club which has already come under heavy criticism. Players and their representatives seem unhappy at Magath’s new system.
Ulf Baranowsky, a representative of the players’ union, believes that this strict system will only affect the players’ performances in a negative manner. Magath, for his part, has stayed adamant with his decision and reckons that the club could achieve better
results this way.
While talking to local media, Baranowsky enthused, "To impose a monetary penalty because a player has performed poorly, is strictly prohibited [by law]. An assessment is not objectively ascertainable. Anyone who resists legally has a good chance."
The impositions came following a series of unfavourable results that saw Die Wolfe lose their last three league games. Wolfsburg made a fantastic start to the season by registering a 3-0 away win against FC Koln on Saturday, August 6. Since then, the club
haven’t managed to notch up a single victory, losing to the likes of Bayern Munich, Borussia Monchengladbach and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/SC-Freiburg-c40462.
Die Wolfe manager believes that the introduction of this fine system will push the players to perform. He strictly opposes the fact that it will put his team under immense pressure. Magath recently imposed a 10,000 Euro fine on striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Patrick-Helmes-c29274 for
underperforming in the game against Freiburg.
According to these new regulations, any player arriving late for training or team meetings will be fined 100 Euros per minute. Any player found guilty of using headphones while on the team bus will receive a punishment of 250 Euros. Similarly, a player would
be docked 1,000 Euros for an unnecessary back pass during the match. The defenders have also been warned for letting the ball bounce in front of them during the match. Any of the stoppers found guilty will get 500 Euros deducted from their match fee.
Wolfsburg are currently sitting 15th on the league table with three points from four games. Die Wolfe are next up against Schalke on Sunday, September 11, at Volkswagen Arena.
