Italian Serie A side, AS Roma, have set their sights on VfL Wolfsburg defender, Simon Kjaer, and could lure him to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 prior to the start of the new campaign. The club earlier struck a 6 Million Euro bid for the youngster which was rejected by the German
club.
Die Wolfe value Kjaer at 15 million Euros and will only let him go for an offer in the region of that particular amount. This has put the centre back’s future in doubt ahead of the 2011/12 season, which is commences from today.

Kjaer, on the other hand, mentioned that playing for Roma could leave him with the opportunity to win silverware, but left the matter to the team officials. The 22-year-old told that his contract runs through until 2014 and it would be difficult to pull
him away from the club on cheap.
He further enthused that he had been training hard and all his focus is pinned on his performances this season. The Danish defender was hopeful of improving his performances this season as his outings in the previous season were below par.
Kjaer also urged his teammates to step up a gear and at the same time asked them to remember the 2008/09 season, where the club managed to win the Bundesliga title. He believes that his side are strong enough to achieve the same feat again, though, focus
and concentration are the prerequisites for success.
