Vfb FRIEDRICHSHAFEN defeats Remat ZALAU by 3-1
A Pool B match of the CEV Volleyball Champions League- Men took place recently between Vfb FRIEDRICHSHAFEN as well as Remat ZALAU of Romania.
The competition between the two sides was hosted in the Romanian city of Baia Mare. The venue of the competition was the Lascar Pana sports hall.
The two teams put on a good show and took the match to four long and gruelling sets that ended in a win for the guests at the following final set scores: 23-25, 25-22, 25-23 and 27-25.
Mariusz Sordyl, the head coach of Remat ZALAU, made the following statements in order to express himself, “In spite of the fact that we played very well, we lost. It was a tough game, with a very close score. We would have needed only a few more points to
win this match.”
On the other hand, Stelian Moculescu, the coach of the vfb FRIEDRICHSHAFEN squad shared his views after the match in the following manner, “I think my students were a bit scared in the first set, but eventually they improved some aspects of their game. It
is a bit disturbing that a few mistakes can change the situation dramatically.”
The first set of the match saw the two teams come out strong against each other and no one was sure where the tables would turn until the very end of the frame when the Romanian team was able to push themselves forward and secure the opening frame.
The loss of the first set got the guests into putting on a good show that caused them to give quite a competition to the home team and finally the visitors were able to equalise the match by winning the second frame. Once the guests got going in the second
frame, they were able to start off the third set in a similar fashion and it did not take them long to earn a win of the third frame.
The home team battled long and hard in the fourth set but their effort was not enough to stop the onward march of the guests who eventually won the frame.
