  1. Buy a dvd recorder

  2. get a dvd recorder or you can pay to have it done but the truth is if you have like 12 to 15 you want doing you would do better off buying a recorder and doing it your self cheaper

  3. Yes and you don't have to spend a lot to do this process. Get a VHS 4-Head Hi-Fi Stereo VCR Recorder / DVD Recorder all in one unit. These have one touch button you press when you're ready to record from VHS to DVD+R or DVD+RW. I can tell you it's cuts down on head aches doing it from VCR to PC (yes you don't have it) but I've done that way takes too long and doesn't come out right. They combo units sold today do a better job.  Just buy enough blank DVD+R or DVD+RW.  Best ones Maxell or Memorex they hold up better. Don't buy any fancy scratch protected ones you'll just waste money that you could use on more blank DVDs.
